What if we do not chart your machine yet?

Let me start with this today.

CpapDash charts two families of machine: ResMed, and Lowenstein Prisma. That is it. If you own something else, you have probably already worked that out from the setup wizard, and you probably closed the tab.

That list is not random. Those machines are most of the market, and my own machine is a ResMed. That is literally how this whole project started, one guy who wanted his own data off his own card. Everything else grew out of that.

But the best part of the last year has been meeting the people who use these things. Some of you have written in, sent samples, answered my questions at odd hours, and pushed the project to cover a machine it did not cover before. Lowenstein support exists because of exactly that.

So here is the question I actually want to answer.

What if we do not chart your machine? Can you still use the Mule and Miner?

The answer is almost certainly yes.

There is one condition, and it is a simple one. Does your machine write its therapy data to an SD card, and can you take that card out and read it somewhere else, in OSCAR or in SleepHQ?

If yes, then the Mule and Miner works for you today. Not eventually. Today.

We collect your card without reading it

The bridge does not care what brand you own. It reads the ezShare card sitting in your machine and pulls the files off it. That is a transport job, not a parsing job. Whether we can turn those files into a chart is a completely separate question from whether we can fetch them.

That split is also why buying one today is not a gamble. The bridge already handles every machine. The charting is the cloud's job. So the day we add your machine, the Mule and Miner you already own starts charting on its own, out of the box. No new hardware, nothing to swap, nothing to buy twice.

So when we say your machine is not supported, what we actually mean is narrower than it sounds. It means we will not draw you an AHI trend, we will not build you a nightly summary, and the coach will not have anything to say about your therapy.

It does not mean your data stays trapped on that card.

Wake up with your night already in SleepHQ

Picture the setup. You put the Mule and Miner on your machine tonight, point it at your card, and go to sleep. In the morning your night is already in SleepHQ, without you touching anything.

That works today, even for a machine we do not chart.

We take whatever is on the card and forward it, as is, without interpreting it. SleepHQ does its own parsing on their end, and their compatibility list is its own thing: ResMed, Philips DreamStation, Fisher and Paykel SleepStyle, Lowenstein. If your machine is on their list, the whole chain works and we are simply the part that moves the files for you every night.

SleepHQ is optional, by the way. It is one destination out of several, not a requirement.

Fair warning on that one though. The automatic upload runs on SleepHQ's API, and their API sits behind their Pro subscription. That is their pricing and their call, not ours, so check their site before you plan around it.

Or keep it entirely on your own machine, with OSCAR

If you would rather nothing leave your house, the local path does the same job.

HMS-CPAP pulls your files straight off the Mule and Miner and writes them into a folder laid out the way OSCAR expects. Then you open OSCAR and last night is sitting there.

And the same split applies. Even when HMS-CPAP cannot show you trends, or an AHI, or your respiratory events, because it does not know how to read your format yet, it still extracts your files and puts them in that folder. The charts are the part that needs to understand your machine. Moving your data is not.

The short version

Do not write this off because we do not draw your charts yet.

If your machine writes to an SD card, you can have every night collected automatically and waiting for you in OSCAR or SleepHQ by the time you wake up. That is available right now, and the charts can catch up later.
